Description

When I first heard about this trip I was a little skeptical of going because it would put me outside my comfort zone. The trip turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life! The support/experience from Director, Sandy Sandberg was exceptional. She was genuinely such a joy to be around. Ray and Carmen Dodd went above and beyond supporting all of the invited guests! Cathy Aronson and Alec Johnson, our photography instructors, devoted so much time with the training and brought a wealth
of information to share. We even experienced a sunrise photography session with photographer Lou Hochheiser! Randy and Dorie were such gracious hosts to invite us into their beautiful home for a
wonderful dinner. What a treat it was getting to watch their Irish Setter, Maggie, enjoy a swim in the pond with the fish! Richard and his staff from First Interstate Bank provided a delicious BBQ lunch from Bubba’s Barbecue, and the Jackson Hole Rodeo and Bar J Chuckwagon were truly incredible. There were so many people that came together for the veterans and I cannot thank everyone enough for such a memorable experience in my life. The organization “Honoring Our Veterans” along with the
community of Jackson, WY has set the bar extremely high and I’m extremely grateful for the experience. I recently moved from Washington State to Georgia so that I could be closer to family. Prior to that
I had retired out of Fort Lewis, WA after serving this great country for 22 years. I then went to work for the state of WA where I stayed for 15 years until I decided that nothing was preventing me from retiring completely at age 60. After months of looking I finally found a new home and I have been enjoying making it my own. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, fishing/boating, gardening, cooking and swimming.
